Tin can bay fishing

 We arrived on the 15th July, 2025. Love this fishing village, so much water with endless fishing spots. Extremely tidal and no water on mid to low tide in Crab creek, for crabbing, easier from the pontoon boat ramp. Catches so far 17th  july- 6 whiting 19th july- 5 whiting 22nd july- 7 fish , whiting and 2 beautiful flathead . One bartail 40cm and a 44cm dusky. 23rd July - 2 whiting only  29 th July warrens birthday - 6 whiting  but gave them away didn’t need any more. We had a great day on the water. 

Only 1 Mud crab today.

 Steamed instead of boiling whole, cleaned green, halved and steamed for 12 mins.

 Omg we got the mother-load of mud crabs today Six beautiful mud crabs and 1 sand crab. We cant believe it, in ningi creek again.

Venitian crab linguini authentic recipe

   PIN Ingredients ▢  300   g   good quality dried linguine   (10.5oz) ▢  1   tablespoon   olive oil ▢  1   large clove   garlic, crushed ▢  ½   cup   dry white wine   (125ml) ▢  1  cup   cherry tomatoes, chopped in half ▢  1   tablespoon   cream (optional)   (notes) ▢  1   teaspoon   sea salt flakes ▢  ½   teaspoon  freshly cracked pepper ▢  ¾   cup   cooked crab meat  (notes) For best results, always weigh ingredients where a weight is provided Instructions   Place a saucepan of salted water over high heat and bring to the boil, then add your pasta. Place the oil and garlic to a frying pan over medium heat, stirring. Once the oil is hot, saute the garlic for about 1 minute but don't let it get too dark. Add the wine and turn the heat up to high.  Unbelievable session this morning . 8 nice sized sandies I am taking home 4 for Ben and the boys. We have more than enough. Pots still out in about 3m water near green beacon. Weather raining and cooler, maybe that has helped spur them on.

Well so disappointing after such a long soak overnight in a new spot. It looked promising but lots of undersized ones and only one to bring home. Back to the drawing board and hopefully we will find the mother load.

 Day 2 of crabbing Conditions not much better today, just a quick trip to check the pots and get them out of the water. Wind is relentless. 3 Big bucks today. All cooked and ready for dinner tonight along with yesterdays catch.
